Make a Gift Through an IRA Charitable Rollover
Normally, a distribution from your IRA is taxed as ordinary income. However, recently enacted, "fiscal cliff" tax legislation extends a charitable giving opportunity throughout 2013 for individuals 70 1/2 or older. Through 2013, you may make a direct distribution from your IRA to a qualified charity, such as Gardens of the Fox Cities. Such qualified direct distributions to charity from your IRA are not subject to income tax. For more information about how you and the Gardens can benefit from an IRA charitable rollover, contact your tax preparer or IRA custodian. You may also contact Gardens Board Member Adam Skarie @ Adam.Skarie@sscglaw.com or at (920) 739-2366.
